~ Grow & Deal

Growing

  • Plant where you point: the pot shows as a ghost, rotates with the wheel and gets placed with E.
  • The plant grows on its own and is tended by looking at it: watering, feeding, pruning and treatment against pests and mold. The diagnosis only shows up in the inspection camera, up close.
  • Harvest by hand: orbital camera and each bud is a point on screen. What you cut disappears for everyone and is still missing when you come back.
  • Grow lights that only work when hung indoors: the plant grows faster, reaches the peak of its genetics and smells a lot less.
  • Rack drying with eight hooks: too few branches dries badly, too many grows mold; the sweet spot is five.
  • Hand trimming: each leaf cut takes a bit of flower with it, and deciding when to stop is the mechanic. It ends with a bagging scene.
  • Theft and smell: other people’s grows can be robbed, and on-duty police can smell them nearby.
  • Six strains with their own genetics.

Street sales

  • Every NPC has its own profile based on its model: the junkie always buys and pays little; the executive pays almost three times as much, tends to refuse, and is the one who calls the police.
  • Quality drives the price with a deliberate curve: top-grade weed is worth about 3.7 times the bad stuff. That’s where the lamp, drying and trimming pay off.
  • Neighborhoods burn out: each zone gets saturated by sales and takes time to recover, even after a restart.
  • Price goes up with on-duty officers. Paid in dirty money that needs laundering, with an hourly sales cap per player.
  • NPCs from other scripts are excluded: nobody sells to a shopkeeper.
  • Police can burn grows: it takes a tool and time, the fire is visible from afar and everything gets logged.
  • Admin panel with a sales heatmap by zone and a full transaction log.

Under the hood

  • No networked entities: everything you see is local objects, and the server is the only authority, with proximity streaming.
  • No loops: plants aren’t simulated on tick, they’re calculated from their own timestamp whenever someone looks at them.
  • Custom props generated from Blender scripts: pot, four plant stages, buds, sugar leaves, branches and drying rack.
  • Rate limiting and validation on the server, console logging and a Discord webhook.
  • Automated tests for the economy, drying, trimming and streaming: they lock in the price curve so a tweak doesn’t flatten it by accident.
  • Interface in React, in Spanish and English.
